Donate a farm animal to a family in need…

This Christmas, WonGeneration is offering the opportunity to purchase a farm animal in Uganda as a Christmas Gift to a loved one. These farm animals will be donated to various families across a few different villages near Kampala. You have the option of choosing from the following:

  • Chicken: $25
  • Goat: $75
  • Female Pig: $200

The families that will receive these animals will be selected by WonGeneration Africa (our African counterpart).

Every animal donated represents a helping hand to a struggling family. What a wonderful way to say Merry Christmas!

Chickens are an amazing help to a family in need. A pair of chickens can produce a small flock in 30 days. In 6 months, those chicks are ready to lay eggs. Within a year, that struggling family can have a steady stream of eggs for their own food source or sell/trade them for other items. The male chickens can also be sold for breeding or consumption as well. During the whole process, the chickens do an amazing job of eating insects and keeping the soil from hardening so the rains are able to soak into the soil more quickly and reduce erosion.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/3″][vc_column_text][smartboxtitle title=’Goats’ color=” text_align=’left’ ]

Goats are a great source of (up to) 16 cups of milk per day, which can also be made into cheese. Male goats can be used to clear the land and are also a great source of protein and revenue. Every time the goat gives birth, milk production is increased as well as giving the struggling family the opportunity to sell the baby goat to buy other needed items, such as clothing and schools supplies.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/3″][vc_column_text][smartboxtitle title=’Pigs’ color=” text_align=’left’ ]

As the gestational period for a pig is only 114 days and the piglets are weaned 3 weeks later, 2-3 litters (of up to 12 piglets) can be produced per year. The females are ready to breed at 5-6 months of age, so a struggling family can create a significant increase in their own food source within a relatively short period of time. The struggling family also has the ability to sell the pigs for needed revenue.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]
